School Social Media Policy

Official School Social Media Presence (Facebook Account):

Arcelo Memorial National Night High School

All members of the faculty of Arcelo MNNHS shall have access to the account username and password.

All learners including SSG officers who wish to have something posted on the official account and/or page shall ask for approval.
All posts requested by faculty members shall be evaluated by Mrs. Frelina C. Mariano for endorsement to Mrs. Sylvia U. Pasa-ol. Once approved by Mrs. Sylvia U. Pasa-ol, the content may be posted by the faculty member requesting for approval.

Comments and reactions shall be turned on for viewers.
All reactions shall be accepted as freedom of expression.
Foul comments shall be deleted by the administrators.
Comments that are unrelated to school announcements and/or activities such as solicitation and product endorsement shall not be allowed.
Sharing of posts shall be disabled.
All faculty members must look through the totality of the account and page and monitor signs of misconduct.

Sharing of sexual/sexualized or violent content, fake news/false information, and foul language
Sharing any content (images, videos, audio) which might harm the school

Each class adviser shall make a Facebook group per class section using the adviser’s personal account. All subject teachers and learners under the class section along with the school guidance designate (Mrs. Frelina C. Mariano) and school principal (Mrs. Sylvia U. Pasa-ol) shall be added as members of the group.
Utilization of group chats on Facebook Messenger is highly discouraged.
For teachers who wish to use Google Classroom for their classes, only the DepEd email shall be utilized.
Platforms for classes shall depend on learners’ needs and availability of resources.
Protocols on getting learners’ and parents’ consent when taking images and videos shall be observed.
Misconduct shall not be tolerated. Actions to be taken on misconduct shall be patterned to the policy for the school social media account.

Only learners’ and their parents’ friend requests on the official school social media account shall be accepted. Friend requests of outsiders shall strictly not be accepted.
Learners and parents are highly encouraged to use their real names for their social media accounts. Learners and parents who do not use their real names shall be grounds for removal from the school official account’s friend list.
Only one account of each learner and parent shall be accepted. Friend requests by second accounts shall be declined.
In the event of learners and parents intending to make new accounts, the said party shall inform the faculty so their old account will be removed from the friend list of the school’s official account.
Inappropriate profile pictures of learners, parents and faculty is highly discouraged.
Learners and their parents shall be allowed to send private messages to the school official account and page. Inappropriate messages shall not be entertained.
An automated reply shall be sent to anyone who sends a private message to the school account and page.
The school shall only have control over posts under the school official account and page.
Learners shall be advised not to post any content that may give a bad image to the school.

Misconduct shall be screen captured for documentation.

Giving of sanctions:

1st Offense: A private message shall be sent by the Admin to the doer of the misconduct. Parents/guardians of the person/s involved shall be informed by the school.
2nd Offense: The doer of the misconduct shall be disabled from reacting and commenting on the posts of the school official account and page. Parents/guardians of the person/s involved shall be informed by the school.
3rd Offense: The doer of the misconduct shall be blocked by the official account and page. Parents/guardians of the person/s involved shall be informed by the school.
